Blackwood (Acacia melanoxylon) is a timber that grows in Eastern Australia. It is popular with wood turners and wood craftsmen and finishes very attractively.

These beautiful Blackwood Slimline Salt and Pepper Grinders were carefully hand made by a craftsman from the Derwent Valley region of Southern Tasmania and the timber was recovered at The Salmon Ponds in the Derwent Valley as a large log that floated down The Plenty River. They are very attractive and great quality.
